Where to Find the MLRS Aiming Module in Rust

Need the MLRS Aiming Module in Rust? Here's how to find Locked Crates dropped by Chinooks, and how to access the Cargo Ship and Oil Rig.

Where to Find the MLRS Aiming Module in Rust

So, you’ve decided that dropping explosive death on your enemies with the MLRS is the way to go. To make that happen, you need the MLRS Aiming Module. Unfortunately, this isn’t something you can craft; it’s only found in Locked Crates. And getting your hands on one isn’t exactly easy.

How to Find Locked Crates

Let’s talk about how you actually get your grubby little hands on a Locked Crate. There are a few ways:

Chinook Helicopters

These noisy death machines will fly around the map, occasionally dropping Locked Crates. Be warned: other players will be eyeing the same crates, and you’re probably not the only one with a rocket launcher. Expect competition, and don’t get too comfortable when the crate lands.

Cargo Ship and Oil Rig

Not into helicopters? Fine. The Cargo Ship and Oil Rig are other hotspots where you can get your hands on these elusive crates. But here’s the catch: they require green, blue, and red Key Cards to access. Once you’re in, you’ll need to hack the crate for 15 minutes, during which time anyone nearby can decide they want to ruin your day. It’s a game of patience and, often, running for your life.

The MLRS Aiming Module: Now What?

Once you’ve secured the crate and obtained your MLRS Aiming Module, congratulations – you can now use the MLRS to blow up anything that moves. But don’t get too comfortable, as the Aiming Module is consumed every time you use the MLRS, so you’ll need to repeat the process if you want to keep bringing the pain.

TL;DR

The MLRS Aiming Module is found in Locked Crates, dropped by Chinooks, or accessed via the Cargo Ship and Oil Rig with Key Cards. Prepare to fight for it.
